John S. Hawke

John S. was born in 1836 in Springfield, Chester Cty., PA.. John S.'s father was William H Hawk and his mother was Jane L. Syphard. His paternal grandparents were Edward Hawke and Rebecca Wynn. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Edward, Robert Thomas, William S., Jane Elizabeth and Anne Barton. He was the oldest of the six children. He had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Peter, John, Simon, Elizabeth, Catherine, Caroline and Catharine. He died at the age of 76 in 1912 in Greytown, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
