Mary was born about 1885 in Maryland.1   Mary's father was Joseph F. Bowles.  Her paternal grandparents were William Spalding Bowles and Susanna Ford. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Joseph Frank, William Wallace, Minnie E., Minnie C, Emma A., Emmer P, Olivia B and Susie M.  She was the youngest of the nine children.  Mary is no longer alive.
