Emma A. was born about 1879 in Maryland.1   Emma A.'s father was Joseph F. Bowles.  Her paternal grandparents were William Spalding Bowles and Susanna Ford. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Joseph Frank, William Wallace, Minnie E., Minnie C, Emmer P, Olivia B, Susie M and Mary.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  She died on May 23rd, 1965.
