Magdalene Hendina was born on March 24th, 1831. Magdalene Hendina's father was Hendrik Everhadus van Blerk and her mother was Elizabeth Jacoba Rippel (van Blerk). Her paternal grandparents were Rogier Bernhadus van Blerk and Martha Basina Dorothea van de Kaap; her maternal grandparents were Johannes Rippel and Magdalena Antonisse van de Kaap (Rippel). She had four brothers named Hendrik Zerjakus, Christiaan Hendrik Jacobus, Frederik Johannes and Jan Carel. She was the oldest of the five children.General Notes
