John Henry van Blerk 
John Henry was born on October 17th, 1874. John Henry's father was Cornelis Johannes Hendrick van Blerk and his mother was Gertruida Fredrika Crossley (van Blerk). His paternal grandparents were Marthinus Samuel van Blerk and Elizabeth Susanna Johanna Frylinck (van Blerk). He had three brothers and five sisters, named William John Jeremiah, Also called Sebastiaan Pieter van Blerk, Rozier Bernardus, Annie Henrietta, Catherine Cornelia, Catharina Cornelia, Gertrude Fredrika and Gertrude Marion Stocker. He was the oldest of the nine children.-
