Geesje Catharina was born on October 21st, 1770 in Cape Town. Geesje Catharina's father was Rogier Bernhadus van Blerk and her mother was Hilletjie Giebelaar (van Blerk). Her paternal grandparents were Nicolaas van Blerk and Catharina Maria Magetski; her maternal grandparents were Johannes Philippus Giebelaar and Anna Margaretha Hop (Giebelaar). She had four brothers and seven sisters, named Nicolaas, Johannes Philippus, Rogier Bernhadus, Marthinus, Anna Margaretha, Catharina Johanna, Maria Elizabeth, Gesina Catharina, Elizabeth Johanna, Maria Margaretha and Maria Helena. She died at 6 months old on April 29th, 1771.General Notes
