Sarah was born in 1724 in Boughton Malherbe, Kent.  Sarah's father was John PETIT and her mother was Sarah RANSLEY. She had a brother and four sisters, named William, Mary, Ann, Elizabeth and Susanna.  She was the third oldest of the six children.
