Elizabeth was born in 1730 in Boughton Malherbe, Kent.  Elizabeth's father was John PETIT and her mother was Sarah RANSLEY. She had a brother and four sisters, named William, Mary, Sarah, Ann and Susanna.  She was the second youngest of the six children.
