George was born in 1882 in Marylebone.  George's father was William George HOLLOWAY and his mother was Henrietta ROSE.  His maternal grandparents were George ROSE and Sarah REYNOLDS. He had two brothers and a sister, named Albert Charles, William Thomas and Emily.  He was the oldest of the four children.
