Harriet was born in 1864 in East Peckham, Kent.  Harriet's father was Walter FRANCIS and her mother was Clara SAUNDERS.  Her maternal grandparents were James SAUNDERS and Elizabeth JEFFERY. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Henry William, James, Charles Walter, Mary Elizabeth, Louisa, Alice, Ada Jane and Clara Minnie.  She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 1 in 1865 in East Peckham, Kent.  She was buried on June 13th, 1865 in Holy Trinity, East Peckham.
