Ada Jane was born in 1874 in East Peckham, Kent.  Ada Jane's father was Walter FRANCIS and her mother was Clara SAUNDERS.  Her maternal grandparents were James SAUNDERS and Elizabeth JEFFERY. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Henry William, James, Charles Walter, Mary Elizabeth, Louisa, Harriet, Alice and Clara Minnie.  She was the third youngest of the nine children.
