Ann was born in 1627 in Cranbrook, Kent.  Ann's father was John DENCE and her mother was Joane SMYTHE. She had six brothers and a sister, named William, Thomas, John, Richard, Elizabeth, James and Elizabeth.  She was the second youngest of the eight children.
