Sidney Robert was born in 1875 in Bridgwater, Somerset.  Sidney Robert's father was James BOARD and his mother was Ellen JARVIS.  His paternal grandparents were James BOARD and Sarah; his maternal grandfather was Robert JARVIS. He had two brothers and two sisters, named James, John Sydney, Ellen and Charlotte Ann.  He was the youngest of the five children.
