Ann was born on December 27th, 1775 in Granville, Northumberland, Pennsylvania.1   Ann's father was John Gemmill and her mother was Elizabeth Porter.  Her paternal grandparents were John Gemmill and Ann Bernett. She had three brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, Zachariah, Elizabeth and Mary.  She was the youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 80 on July 27th, 1856 in Alexandria, Pennsylvania.1
