Jean Campbell was born on June 3rd, 1825.  Jean Campbell's father was Hugh Hamilton Campbell and her mother was Menzies Sinclair.  Her paternal grandfather was John Hamilton and her paternal grandmother is Jane Campbell. She had four brothers named John, Alexander, Archibald and Hugh .  She was the youngest of the five children.
