Samuel was born on November 29th, 1795 in VA.  Samuel's father was George Jones and his mother was Mary Rhodes.  His paternal grandparents were Solomon Jones and Elizabeth Neville. He had seven brothers and a sister, named George, James, Tholemiah, William, Solomon, John, Daniel and Letitia.  He was the seventh oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 67 on July 28th, 1863 in Oskaloosa, Clay, IL.
