Ona was born on September 13th, 1889 in near Douglas, Butler County, Kansas. Ona 's father was William Jay. Her paternal grandparents were William Jay and Eliza Jane Caylor. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Wilbur, Osker, Robert, Deanus, Carrie, Pearly, Eliza, Ilah, Vida and Vera. She was the second oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 80 on July 3rd, 1970 in LaJunta, CO. She was buried in Rocky Ford, CO, Valley View Blck 23, Plot 3, Space E.
