Thomas was born in year 1785 in Mawgan, Cornwall.  Thomas' father was William Langdon and his mother was Jane Bullock.  His maternal grandparents were  Steven Bullock and  Frances Vivian.  He was the fourth of twelve children.  He had three brothers and eight sisters, named Henry, Stephen, Ralph, Ann, Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Catherine, Sarah, Maria and Fanny.
