Elizabeth was born in year 1832 in St Enoder, Cornwall.  Elizabeth's father was Peter Coad and her mother was Elizabeth Bullock.  Her paternal grandparents were John Coad and Ann Hender; her maternal grandparents were  George Bullock and  Ann Leverton.  She was the third of four children.  She had two brothers and a sister, named Samuel, James and Sophia.
