Peter was born on July 9th, 1802 in Mawgan, Pyder, Cornwall.  Peter's father was John Coad and his mother was Ann Hender.  He was the youngest of two children.  He had a sister named Mary.

Peter and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony on November 6th, 1824 in St Enoder, Cornwall.  They had two sons and two daughters, named Samuel, Sophia, Elizabeth and James.
