György's father was György Asbóth and his mother was Erzsébet Bogár.  His paternal grandparents were György Asbóth and Mária Masnyák. He had two sisters named Erzsébet and Éva.  He was the oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named György and Katalin.
