Silas was born on March 24th, 1804 in Harrison.  Silas' father was Richard W King and his mother was Sarah (Sallie) Kennedy(Canady).  His maternal grandfather is Kennedy. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Daniel, Richard, Paul, Bartlett, Rachel Minerva, Sarah, Rachel Minerva and Elizabeth "Betsy".  He died at the age of 53 on November 30th, 1857 in Harrison, Kentucky, United States.
