Bartlett's father was Richard W King and his mother was Sarah (Sallie) Kennedy(Canady).  His maternal grandfather is Kennedy. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Daniel, Richard, Silas, Paul, Rachel Minerva, Sarah, Rachel Minerva and Elizabeth "Betsy".
