Walter was born on September 23rd, 1769 in Virginia.  Walter's father was Charles Christian Jr.  and his mother was Mary Leake (Christian).  His paternal grandparents were Charles Christian Snr. and Elizabeth Hunt (Christian). He had six brothers and four sisters, named John, 2nd LT Elijah, Charles, The Ghost, The Shadow, William, George , Elizabeth , Mary, Judith and Mourning. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named William, Lucy and Judith.  He died at the age of 59 in August 1829 in Amherst County Virginia.
