    SUNBURY - Darwin E. Gearhart, 65, Sunbury RD1, died Saturday morning in Geisinger Mdeical Center, Danville.
    
    Born in Rockefeller Township Feb 25, 1922, he was a son of the late Charles and Catherine (Shipman) Gearhart.
    
    He married the former Mae G. Sanders in 1943.
    
    Mr. Gearhart was a 1941 graduate of Sunbury High School.  He served in the Navy during World War II.
    
    He was formerly employed as a barber and later was employed at Sears Roebuck and Co.  He also owned and operated a farm in Rockefeller Township.
    
    Mr. Gearhart was a member of the United Lutheran Church, Sunbury RD4; Elks Lodge and Masonic Lodge, both of Sunbury; Williamsport Consistory; Tall Cedars; American Legion; and a life member of Americus Hose Company, Sunbury.
    
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mabel R. Miller of Sunbury RD2 and Mrs. Ester B. Moodie of Danville.
    
    One brother Preceded him in death.
    
    The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Lutheran Church, Sunbury RD4, by Rev. Vitolds Gobins.  Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
    
    Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, Sunbury.
