Her paternal grandfather was William Rigsby; her maternal grandparents were John Sanders and Celia Johnson. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Aaron L, Richard, Margaret, Hannah, Annis, Lucinda, Rebecca J and Mary. She is the fourth youngest of the nine children.-
