Her paternal grandfather was William Rigsby; her maternal grandparents were John Sanders and Celia Johnson. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Aaron L, Richard, Margaret, Hannah, Annis, Lucinda, Paralee and Rebecca J. She is the second youngest of the nine children.-
