Her paternal grandparents were James Mckinney Houston and Martha Davis; her maternal grandfather is Sweat and her maternal grandmother was Caldonise Callie Massengale. She had four brothers and four sisters, named John Leverne "Vernon", Herman, Norman, Alton Leo, Euphie Mae, Minnie, Ester and Vallie. She was the third youngest of the nine children. She died at the age of 3 on May 3rd, 1923 in Macon, Fayette, Tennessee, USA.-
