Ida Belle was born on February 2nd, 1926. Ida Belle's father was William Lee "Bud" Allen and her mother was Rachel Annie Feathers. Her paternal grandparents were James H "Jim" Allen and Margaret Jane Skelton; her maternal grandparents were Jesse Feathers and Sarah Jane Bowles. She had two brothers and eleven sisters, named John Henry "Peck", Relay "Slick", Maggie Lee, Lottie Jane, Vennie Myrtle, Anna Mae, Irene "Maude", Lorene "Mollie", Lillie, Mamie "Polly", Wayne, Clarice Burnette "Sally" and Verlena "Sweetie". She was the youngest of the fourteen children. She died at the age of 85 on September 24th, 2011 in Collierville, Shelby, Tennessee, USA.General Notes
Ida Belle Allen Ford Ida Belle Allen Ford, 85, of Collierville, Tenn., died Sept. 24, 2011, at Baptist Hospital in Collierville. She was the widow of Oliver Odell Ford, her husband of 53 years. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 27 at Holly Springs Funeral Home. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Pastor Robert Buse officiated. She leaves a daughter, Jo Ann Ford of Collierville. She was preceded in death by sisters Maggie Lee Skelton, Anna Mae Bumpus, Myrtle “Sissy” Skelton, Verlena “Sweetie” Skelton, Clarice “Sally” Skelton, Lillie Rhea, Mamie “Polly” Byrd; and brothers John Henry “Peck” Allen, ReLay “Slick” Allen. Pallbearers were Ross Reed, Winfred Allen Jr., J.C. Allen, Roy Allen, Michael Nabors, Danny Rhea, Keith Glover and Jack Jones, Honorary pallbearers were Glenn Skelton, Gene Skelton, Emmitt Jarrett, Bosie Skelton and Jan Dickey.
