James Thornton

James was born in 1830 in Barnoldswick, Yorkshire, England.¹ James' father was Joseph Thornton and his mother was Agnes (Thornton). He had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Richard, Betty, Mary, Jane and Agnes. He was the fifth oldest of the seven children.
