Dick Thornton

Dick was born in 1898 in Barnoldswick, Yorkshire, England.¹ Dick's father was Dick Thornton and his mother was Elizabeth Whittaker. His paternal grandparents were James Thornton and Ellen Hartley. He had a brother and five sisters, named Norman, Rhoda, May, Maud, Clara and Jane E. He was the sixth oldest of the seven children.
