George Petty

George was born in 1767 in Litton, Yorkshire, England.¹ George's father was Robert Pettyt and his mother was Agnes Gladding. His paternal grandparents were William Petyt and Mary Day. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Sylvester, Thomas, William, Mary and Martha. He was the youngest of the six children.
