Emma Petty

Emma was born in 1823 in Holbeck, Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Emma's father was Samuel Pettyt and her mother was Mary Anne Bullman. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Pettyt and Anne (Nancy) Benson. She had five brothers and three sisters, named William Henry, Edward, Frederick, Samuel, Alfred Wedgewood, Eliza, Ann Mary and Caroline. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
