Ellen Newis

Ellen was born in 1874 in Barwick In Elmet, Yorkshire, England.¹ Ellen's father was John Newiss and her mother was Mary Ann Smith. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Newis and Mary Gow. She had three brothers named Charles, Robert and John William. She was the third oldest of the four children. She had a half-brother named Harry.
