William was born on September 16th, 1832 in Turkeyfoot Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, USA.1   William's father was Henry F Younkin and his mother was Mary King (Younkin).  His paternal grandparents were Frederick G Younkin and Catherine Patton (Younkin). He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Moses, Alfred, Harrison, Silas, John, Ross, Jerry, Cassie, Rachel, Mary and Hilah.  He died at the age of 85 on November 23rd, 1917 in Wakefield, Clay County, Kansas, USA.  He was buried at the Timber Creek Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas, USA.1 1 

William's first family

William and Ruth were married in a religious & civil ceremony on December 7th, 1862.1   They had four sons and two daughters, named Bert, Elias, Charles, Aaron, Ina and Effie.


William's second family

William and Elida were married in a religious & civil ceremony on September 4th, 1887.1   They had a son named Jesse.
