Ross was born on June 19th, 1852 in Addison Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, USA.1   Ross' father was Henry F Younkin and his mother was Mary King (Younkin).  His paternal grandparents were Frederick G Younkin and Catherine Patton (Younkin). He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Moses, William, Alfred, Harrison, Silas, John, Jerry, Cassie, Rachel, Mary and Hilah.  He died at the age of 64 on January 8th, 1917 in Ursina, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, USA.  He was buried at the Ursina Cemetery, Lower Turkeyfoot Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, USA.1 1

Ross and Emma were married in a religious & civil ceremony.1   They had five sons and five daughters, named Frederick, Russell, Harry, Warren, Clarence, Anna, Etta, Bertha, Sarah and Mary.
