Benjamin, known as Ben, was born on June 17th, 1896 in Old Leipzig, Morton County, North Dakota, USA.1  Ben's father was Daniel Fredrick “Dan” Sprecher and his mother was Susanna Hintz (Sprecher).  His paternal grandparents were Friedrich Jon “Fred” Sprecher and Louise “Christine” Gruning (Sprecher) Grunning; his maternal grandparents were Johann Freidrich Hintz and Louisa Nuske (Hintz). He had five brothers and two sisters, named Christian, Rudolph, Oscar, Arthur, Robert, Paulina and Hulda.  He was the sixth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 80 on July 5th, 1976 in Bismarck, Burleigh County, North Dakota, USA.1

Ben and Katie were married in a religious & civil ceremony on November 25th, 1923 at Ebenezer Church, Old Leipzig, Grant County, North Dakota, USA.1  They had two sons and four daughters, named Harold, Arthur, Dena, Melvin, Delores and Mildred.
