Arthur's father was Daniel Fredrick “Dan” Sprecher and his mother was Susanna Hintz (Sprecher). His paternal grandparents were Friedrich Jon “Fred” Sprecher and Louise “Christine” Gruning (Sprecher) Grunning; his maternal grandparents were Johann Freidrich Hintz and Louisa Nuske (Hintz). He had five brothers and two sisters, named Christian, Rudolph, Oscar, Robert, Ben, Paulina and Hulda. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 13 on January 9th, 1906 in Morton County, North Dakota, USA.¹
