Amancio was born on 6-Jun-1925 in Cuevas de Provanco (Segovia).  Amancio's father was Elías Martínez (González) and his mother was Perfecta Peña (González).  His paternal grandparents were Román Martínez (González) and Petra González (De Frutos); his maternal grandparents were  Valeriano Peña (Cuéllar) and  Romana González.  He was the oldest of two children.  He had a sister named Mª Luisa.  He died, at the age of 65, on 29-Jan-1991 from cancer.
