Maria Sebastian's father is Kulandaisamy and his mother was Anthoniammal.  His paternal grandparents are Raj Cimeon, came from Kadagathur and Madalaiammal; his maternal grandparents are Savariappan and Chinnammal. He has two brothers and two sisters, named Dr.Selvanathan, Maria Joseph, Jacintha and Dr.Athisayamary.  He is the third oldest of the five children. He has a half-brother named Mariadoss.
