Chinnammal's father is Rajendiran (Kanniyappan), Narthampattiyan and her mother is Maria Soosaiyamma.  Her paternal grandparents are Poongavanam (Sanjeevan) Kudumbam and Chinnamma; her maternal grandparents are <Unknown> and <Unknown>. She has five brothers and three sisters, named Sanjivi R., Muthu, Madalaimuthu, Thanjammal, Sebasthian (Muthusamy Vaathiyaar), Savariammal, Ciceli and Alangaram.

Chinnammal and Savariappan are married.  They had five sons and two daughters, named Jeganathan, Masilamani, Arputham, Pushpanathan, Duraisamy, Anthoniammal and Therese Mary.
