Pepa was born on February 14th, 1807 in San Juan; Argentina.  Her godfather was José Cortinez and her godmother was Luisa Rufino.  Pepa's father was José María Yarza (Reteguy) and her mother was Juana Isabel Benegas.  Her maternal grandparents are Antonio Benegas and <Unknown>. She had four brothers and six sisters, named José Carlos, José Gregorio, José Miguel, Florentino, Petronila, Antonina de la Ascención, María del Carmen, Andrea, Juana Antonia del Carmen and Paulita de la Trinidad.  She was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 49 on June 1st, 1856.
