Jackson was born in 1823 in Jennings County, Illinois.  Jackson's father was Evert VanVickle and his mother was Sarah White.  His paternal grandparents were Evert VanVickle and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Benjamin White and Susannah Justus. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Benjamin, Enoch, William, John, VanVickle, Elizabeth, Susan and Sarah (Sally).  He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.  He died after 1880.



Jackson's family

Jackson and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony on July 25th, 1843 in Daviess County, Missouri.1
