Dorothea, known as Lena, was born on August 29th, 1882 in Strasburg, Shelby County, Illinois.1   Lena's father was Carl (Henry) Heinrich Mueller and her mother was Caroline Wilhelmina Brunnworth.  Her paternal grandparents were Carl Heinrich Mueller and Anna Sophie Hagemeier; her maternal grandparents were Heinrich Wilhelm Brumwort and Anna Maria Dorothea Beckschewe. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Bill, Gottlieb, Carl, Friedrich, Johann, Carl, Carl, Anna, Henrietta and Emilie.  She died at the age of 83 in 1965.1
