Mary Luella was born on November 16th, 1865 in Biggsville, Henderson, Illinois, USA.1 Mary Luella's father was William Harvey McLain and her mother was Lydia Antoinette Whitcomb. Her paternal grandparents were John S. McLain and Elizabeth McCartney. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Horace E., Elmer Park, Frank W., Joseph Walter, Clyde Herbert, Nettie Viola, Emma Blanche and Lottie Leora. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 71 on May 26th, 1937 in Sidney, Cheyenne, Nebraska, USA. She was buried in Greenwood Cemetery (Nebraska).-
