De Witt Johnson

De Witt was born on March 3rd, 1852 in Hope Township, Barry, Michigan, United States.¹ De Witt's father was John Q. Johnson and his mother was Margaret Sutherland. His maternal grandparents were Eli Sutherland and Thankful Russell. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Warren James, De Witt, Jared R., Mary Adelaide, Lousia Ann, Welcome, Harty Jane, Lucy Thankful, Elna E. and Minnie E.. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 71 on January 19th, 1924 in Gresham, OR,Oregon. He was buried in 1924 in Gresham, Multnomah, Oregon, United States.¹
