Tabe was born on February 16th, 1850.  Tabe's father was Melle Lieuwes Rozema and his mother was Mientje Libbes Westra.  His paternal grandparents were Lieuwe Roelofs Rosema and Sytske Hedzers Kooistra. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Lieuwe, Libbe, Hedzer, Sytse, Sijke and Sijke.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 88 on May 5th, 1938.
