Lea was born on September 28th, 1871 in Radzilow, Lomza Gub., Poland.  Lea's father was Lazor Czerwinski and her mother was Mariaszka Chaimowna Sawicki.  Her paternal grandparents were Benyamin (Benko) Czerwinski and <Unknown>.  She had three sisters named Rochla, Chana and Chinka.  She was the second oldest of the four children.
