James was born on November 1st, 1686 in Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts.1   James' father was James Simonds and his mother was Susanna Simonds.  His paternal grandparents were William Simonds and Judith Simonds; his maternal grandparents are Samuel Blodgett and Ruth Eggleton. He had a brother and four sisters, named Nathan, Ruth, Susanna, Abigail and Sarah.  He died at the age of 88 on July 29th, 1775 in Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts.2
