Jane was born about 1805.1   Jane's father is John MacDougall and her mother was Ann MacDougall.  Her paternal grandfather was Peter MacDougall and her paternal grandmother is Marrion MacDougall. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Allan, John (Richard), Elizabeth and Katherine.  She was the second oldest of the five children.  She died in 1880.1
